Opening Easter 2026
Monopatia Mountain Resort is located in Ano Pedina, in the heart of Zagori, close to the Vikos Canyon. The village is just 35 km (approx. 30 minutes) from Ioannina, with easy access via scenic regional roads. Ioannina Airport is approximately 30 km away (about 25 minutes).
The resort is arranged across three traditional stone buildings and seven independent studio villas, set on one of the hills overlooking the village. Two buildings host seven guest rooms, while the third houses the breakfast area, Diava Restaurant, and spaces for retreats, conferences, and small gatherings.
Monopatia is defined by a calm, refined atmosphere shaped by its natural surroundings. Interiors reflect the landscape through earthy tones and materials, while each space maintains its own character and understated comfort. The property comprises fourteen buildings in total, most dating back to the 19th century and carefully restored in 2010, respecting the local architectural tradition.
Zagori is a place to be explored at your own pace. Walk through forest paths in search of wild mushrooms, paddle calmly along the river by canoe, cycle mountain routes, or enjoy horseback riding through fir and oak trees. These are simple, honest activities that let you experience the landscape as it is—quiet, expansive, and deeply restorative.
Life in Zagori is shaped by nature and tradition. Guests can take part in local honey harvesting and learn about the unique fir tree honey produced in the area. Tasting it fresh from the source reveals a depth and character that reflects the forest itself—an experience rooted in the everyday rhythms of the region.
